I use a small device called a "map" for the big picture and an Ordnance Survey map for local areas if I'm staying there a while. Oh, and Google Earth satellite view and a print off for anywhere specific. I also use road signs, sometimes ask people and also use my voice, sight and hearing senses plus common sense and a memory which I have had since birth.
